Liverpool, in the city
Right in the middle of the city of Liverpool you will encounter this great statue of Beatles-manager Brian Epstein, close to the former NEMS-store. Around the corner you can find the Beatles museum and The Cavern club in Matthew street
Matthew street
Matthew Street is famous for being the location where The Beatles played a lot of gigs between 1961 and 1963. Near the restored Cavern Club you can visit The Beatles museum. The museum was started by Roag Best, brother of former drummer Pete Best, in 2018. There's also a nice museum in The Royal Albert Dock (The Beatles story) but this one is for the real fans.

The Magical mystery tour
From the Royal Albert Dock you can take a 2-hour ride on the Magical mystery tour bus. The tour rides along all famous places such as The Cavern club, Penny Lane, Strawberry field, the homes they grew up in, locations of their first concerts etc.

The Empress
The Empress was the local pub in High Park street. Ringo Starr and his family lived around the corner in Admiral Grove. The place was also recorded on the cover of Ringo's first album "Sentimental journey" (1970).

Penny Lane
The bus stop on Penny Lane was the place where Paul McCartney transfered when he went to Menlove Ave (Lennon's home). The places described in the song are actually located beyond Penny Lane (like the barbershop on Smithdown place).

The Beatles story
In the Royal Albert dock you can find another Beatles museum, The Beatles story. This one is more interesting to families and groups perhaps while the one in Matthew street is for the seasoned fans. They have Lennon's last piano and the shop is great.
