Music trips

For me a holiday needs to have a theme. No sitting at the pool. So, why not choose a destination with music as the main theme? Consider the possibilities, a walking tour, bus tour, attending concerts, festivals, museums, record stores, fan shops etc. Of course I visited concerts, festivals, music stores before during holidays but a music trip is a bit more than that. It's like a treasure hunt to discover and understand the roots and inspirations of your musical heroes. And planning the trip is already part of the fun.

Planned for this year mid june is a trip to Zwitserland. Main goal is to visit The Queen studio experience in Montreux where they recorded several albums. Next to that I'm thinking about goin' on a trip to Berlin in the autumn. Still need to plan that in detail. The idea is to follow in the 'footsteps' of David Bowie in Berlin in the 70's when he released his famous trilogy "Low", "Heroes" and "Lodger".
